NCCP PJSC won a tender of Brazilian company Eletronuclear for the supply of Li-7.

Fuel Company of ROSATOM TVEL announced on its website that its enterprise Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrates Plant (NCCP PJSC) won in the tender for the supply of lithium-7 hydroxide, an important component of the cooling system, for the Angra Nuclear Power Plant in Brazil.

NCCP PJSC won the tender of the Brazilian company Eletronuclear for the supply of more than 100 kilograms of lithium-7 hydroxide.

"The product is intended to be used in the cooling system of the reactor of both operating power units of the Admiral Alvaro Alberto NPP (Angra NPP). The delivery of our product to the Brazilian customer is planned to be organized till the end of 2023", the report said.

Lithium-7 produced by NCCP PJSC is traditionally used in nuclear energy as an additive to the primary coolant of PWR reactors for adjusting the water chemistry regime as well as in the production of chemical reagents for nuclear energy as the main component in the preparation of nuclear-class ion exchange membranes included in the water treatment equipment for reactor coolant.
